The Hittites (not the Hittites of the bible) who would have lived in Anatolia, now modern day Turkey over 3000 years ago, actually spoke an Indo-European language, not a Semetic one like the majority of the region at the time. This was only discovered by linguists in the early 20th century. Their word for water? Would have sounded like watar.
